Job Description:
The Fleet Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring our drivers comply with all applicable regulations, laws, and guidelines, including FMCSA/DOT, DEP, state/city regulations, insurance carrier requirements, etc.

Main Responsibilities:

• Regularly report to the Vice President of Operations, highlighting key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with Operational Excellence and Operations teams to analyze KPIs and power unit usage patterns, identifying opportunities to eliminate or reduce risks.
• Work closely with the Safety Department, Facility Managers, and other departments to coordinate, facilitate, and measure KPIs and related activities.
• Offer coaching to drivers on navigating various road conditions, steep grades, inclement weather, and more.
• Track business internal and external regulatory compliance, including CSA, RSI, DQF, DOT qualification status, HUT, etc.
• Monitor performance and identify areas for retraining and process improvements.
• Organize and conduct driver coaching sessions, documenting evaluations.
• Evaluate employee driving abilities and competency, developing and communicating development plans when necessary.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of transportation policies and DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Develop and deliver classroom-based training programs.
