The Landscape Construction PM/Estimator is responsible for developing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with project managers and design teams to deliver competitive bids. This role involves managing projects from initial client contact through final invoicing, ensuring accurate information gathering, effective negotiation, and successful project execution.
This role will support the growth of our landscape construction division by estimating and managing projects across residential communities, commercial properties, parks, municipal projects, and more.
Key Responsibilities
Manage project buyouts, including material procurement and supplier negotiations.
Estimate and create detailed proposals for incoming opportunities.
Follow the sales process from initial inquiry through project completion.
Coordinate short-term and long-term scheduling with management staff.
Assist in personnel management, employee safety, and training.
Build and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers.
What We are Looking For
Skills & Expertise
Strong horticultural knowledge and familiarity with landscape construction methods.
Working knowledge of irrigation systems, wells, pumps, automatic controls, and drainage methods.
Understanding of materials, tools, and equipment needed for landscape projects.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
Personal Attributes
Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality with company and client information.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Other Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the landscape/construction industry.
Landscape Contracting Degree or similar qualification (preferred).
Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round.
Flexibility to work 45+ hours per week, including weekends and holidays when requested.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
OSHA-10 Certification (preferred).
