ABOUT THIS POSITION
Liberty Electric in Salem, NH is looking for a motivated individual who wants to learn fundamental skills as a "Apprentice Electrical Estimator. This is an entry level position where a individual learns the fundemental skills of analyzing blueprints, calculating materials and labor costs, and generating accurate price estimates for electrical projects under the guidance of experienced estimators, with a focus on developing technical knowledge of electrical systems and building project cost analysis capabilities.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
- Blueprint Reading:
- Learn to interpret electrical blueprints, identifying key components like wiring layouts, power sources, lighting fixtures, and panel locations.
- Take-Offs:
- Assist in performing quantity take-offs by counting the number of required materials (conduit, wire, fixtures) from blueprints to create accurate material lists.
- Cost Analysis:
- Research and gather pricing information on electrical materials, labor rates, and subcontractors to build accurate cost estimates.
- Software Proficiency:
- Learn to use electrical estimating software to input data, generate reports, and create detailed project proposals.
- Site Visits:
- Accompany experienced estimators on site visits to gain practical understanding of project scope and conditions.
- Data Entry:
- Organize and input project details, material quantities, and labor calculations into estimating software.
- Collaboration:
- Work with project managers, electricians, and other team members to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Basic Electrical Knowledge:
- Understanding of electrical theory, wiring methods, and common electrical components.
- Math Skills:
- Strong proficiency in basic math, including calculations for quantities, measurements, and cost analysis.
