What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Credit Analyst position at LIBERTY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION?
Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst. The candidate must evaluate the financial condition of individuals and businesses through new loan requests, loan renewals, the annual review process, analyze and spread borrower and guarantor financials, as well as other duties as they apply. This is an entry level position but a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills are required. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform annual financial reviews for commercial relationships.
- Spread and analyze business tax returns, business financial statements, personal tax returns, personal financial statements for new and existing commercial loan relationships.
- Complete credit monitoring functions including spreading and review of financial statements, borrowing base and covenant testing, marketable securities and leveraged lending monitoring.
- Makes preliminary recommendation to Commercial Department Management.
- Attend and participate in loan committee meetings as required.
- Assures all basic underwriting guidelines are met.
- Develop a working knowledge of the Commercial Loan Policy and NCUA regulations regarding member business lending.
- Oversees and manages financial information in regard to appropriate compliance tracking.
- Maintains expertise in new and current analysis procedures.
- Maintains expertise in new and changing underwriting guidelines and industry regulations.
- Adheres to Credit Union credit standards and works constructively with and abides by credit department guidelines.
