What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consumer Lending Specialist position at LIBERTY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION?
Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking a Consumer Lending Specialist with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to perform loan requests for members over the phone in our Direct Lending Contact Center (LCC). Consumer lending experience is preferred. The candidate will be scheduled for approximately a 40-hour week to include occasional Saturdays on a rotating basis. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the lending phone rotation and provide exceptional service to the members.
- Provide professional and courteous service with a positive attitude.
- Perform follow-up phone calls in a timely manner to expedite loan requests.
- Perform requests in a manner in which to develop a lending relationship with the member.
- Ensure member satisfaction by maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products and services.
- Process consumer loan and credit card application requests.
- Conduct loan interviews to complete applications.
- Retrieve and analyze credit reports, calculate financial ratios, and review loan details.
- Provide J.D. Power vehicle information and Carfax reports to applicants, as needed.
- Develop a professional sales approach for selling loan protection products.
- Comply to all credit union lending policies and procedures.
- Prepare loan documents for closing via Adobe Sign or at branch locations.
- Educate members on the correct process for vehicle titling and lien perfection.
- Book and disburse loans.
- Ensure proper documentation is archived and imaged for each loan request.
- Have a working knowledge of the lending operation software.
- Strive to meet monthly individual and departmental sales targets.
- Pursue cross-selling and departmental goals by offering payment protection, GAP, MRC, and refinances from other institutions on all loan requests.
- Complete all required compliance training in a timely manner.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and security when dealing with members and confidential information.
- Develop a thorough understanding of credit union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
