What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Credit Repair Specialist position at Liberty Federal Credit Union?
Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking a Mortgage Credit Repair Specialist. The position can be based out of Evansville, IN, Nashville, TN, Louisville or Owensboro, KY. The successful applicant must possess excellent service skills, confidentiality, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. At least 1 year of previous mortgage industry experience is required. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct detailed credit analyses with prospective home buyers and provide advice, education, and guidance on how to repair credit and/or improve credit score.
- Maintain ongoing contact with prospective home buyers via phone, meetings, emails, etc. to ensure member is on track with their credit/mortgage goal(s).
- Monitor the prospective home buyers progress towards “mortgage readiness” with encouragement, advice, and coaching.
- Assist with credit dispute forms, send Equifax re-scores (while maintaining costs to company and member).
- Communicate with the sales team on progress of the prospects and their “mortgage readiness” and ensure the files are complete, orderly, and delivered to the originating loan originator in a timely manner.
- Conduct educational sessions for borrowers and realtors, as requested.
- Understand and apply federal regulations associated with mortgage loans.
- Develop a working knowledge of the credit union’s data processing system, loan origination system, Word, and EXCEL software.
- Develop an understanding of credit union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisors or management.
