SUMMARY
Sells automobiles by understanding and demonstrating vehicle characteristics, capabilities, and features in addition to developing and qualifying buyers and closing sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Understands Ford product line by studying characteristics, capabilities, features, and by comparing and contrasting competitive models
- Approaches, greets, and offers assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot
- Offers test drives to all prospects. Follows dealership procedures to obtain proper identification from customer prior to test drive
- Demonstrates automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, features, and explaining warranties and services
- Satisfies the transportation needs of the buyer by understanding buyers requirements, and interests and by developing rapport with the customers
- Knows and understands equity and values and is able to explain depreciation to the customer
- Completes quotes and explains financing options in accordance with established dealership policies
- Closes sale by overcoming objections
- Prepares sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to customer arrival
- Delivers vehicles to customers, ensuring that the customer understands the vehicles operating features
- Introduces customers to the service department and schedules first service appointment
- Follows up on all post delivery items to make sure that all customer expectations are met
- Follow up with prospective customers and return email/voicemail
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to read and write. Ability to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Conducts ones self in a professional manner extending every polite custom and courtesy to all customers
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest and percentages
- Basic MS Office knowledge, computer software and internet proficiency
- Excellent appearance, verbal/written communication, strong negotiation and presentation skills
EDUCATION
- High School degree or equivalent preferred
- Valid Drivers license that meets dealership insurability requirements
EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate must have a strong desire to succeed. Our automotive sales representatives come from a variety of backgrounds and industries. You dont have to have automotive sales experience to be successful but you should have experience providing exceptional customer service and previous sales experience is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to walk the sales lot and showroom to review inventory, and greet customers for at least 8 hours in a shift. Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds on occasion. Must be able to push, pull, and reach with hands and arms. Must have close and distance vision. Must be able to drive company vehicles. Must be able to type.
