What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner/Specialty [GI] position at Liberty Hospital?
SUMMARY: The APP in this position will work with the gastroenterologist in the hospital setting. The APP will document progress notes in the hospital EMR. He/she will perform nursing assessments on new admissions, consults, patients presenting to the emergency department, and make rounds on established patients. This position requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of gastroenterology as it is related to his/her assigned specialty. This includes both inpatient and emergency assessments. In addition, this position requires interpersonal skills to relate to the physician, patient, family members, ancillary personnel, and hospital personnel in a professional and appropriate manner.
Required Education/Training: Graduate from an accredited program
Required Experience: One (1) plus years of experience
Required Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Missouri Registered Professional Nurse; current Missouri Advanced Practice Registered Nurse status
Preferred Experience: Experience working with a gastroenterologist in a hospital-based environment
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
