What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Medical Laboratory Scientist position at Liberty Hospital?
SUMMARY: Responsible for routine specimen receiving and testing of blood and body fluid specimens. Performs departmental clerical duties, including order entry, charting results, and answering telephone.
Required Education/Training: Greater than 60 hours of college credit within an emphasis in a life science degree. At least 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 hours of science courses that include six semester hours of chemistry, six semester hours of biology and twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination.
Preferred Education/Training: Greater than 90 hours of college credit with an emphasis in a life science degree
Preferred Experience: Experience in phlebotomy, healthcare, and/or Medical Laboratory
