Seeking a friendly and professional Optometric Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. Successful candidates will have an upbeat "can do" attitude and share our philosophy and passion for improving lives through vision. Strong candidates will have the education and prior medical front office experience to assume the daily execution of all front office responsibilities. This position is perfect for someone seeking full-time, long-term employment. On-the-job training and mentoring will be provided to support your successful transition into this key role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Greet and orient patients to our practice, answer multi-line phone system, schedule, reschedule & confirm appointments, manage multiple provider schedules, obtain referrals and records from other medical offices and insurance companies, verify insurance eligibility & explain insurance benefits to patients, invoice charges on accounts and prepare charges for billing insurance, accept and apply payments, create and maintain electronic medical records, fax, file, & scan, triage calls and direct messages to the appropriate departments, manage timely internal & external communications, maintain clean reception area, support optical staff and optometric technicians with ordering contact lenses and glasses.
Requirements: High School diploma plus prior education or demonstrated experience in healthcare administration, medical billing/coding, or medical records, prior experience in a multi-provider medical front office position with similar office responsibilities, proficiency with medical EMR systems, efficient use of standard office equipment.
