Director, Product Analysis

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Liberty Mutual Surety™ is currently seeking a Director to join our newly formed Client Services team within Global Distribution & Partnerships. This group is primarily responsible for strategizing, designing and delivering industry-leading value-added services for Surety clients across our global markets.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager, Client Services, the focus of this position will be on leading initiatives that analyze financial and macroeconomic data in developing a suite of value-added services geared towards surety underwriters, brokers, and accounts.

• Direct analysts across the Surety Data Office as well as the Product, Portfolio & Performance teams to:
• Develop and maintain a suite of macroeconomic insights targeted for surety producers and clients.
• Manage the process of running and distributing financial benchmarking reports for our customers (producers as well as underwriters)
• Apply principles of continuous improvement in identifying areas within the existing process for enhancing efficiency, implementing automation as well as application of Gen AI technologies.
• Identify additional opportunities across global Surety offices and propose changes to enhance our position as Trusted Advisor by leveraging value-added services.
• Work closely with field and home office underwriters as well as aligned functions across Surety (e.g. Claims, Marketing) to generate and share valuable insights.
• Conduct research in market trends and manage efforts to evaluate impact of industry shocks (e.g. COVID-19, Banking Crisis) on Surety. Explore options to co-create insights in partnership with industry organizations as well as key agents and brokers.
• Perform surety market research and analysis and provide summaries of industry and competitive information to senior leadership including the Head of Distribution & Partnerships as well as the Chief Underwriting Officer (s).
• Create and/or own training material content for underwriters, including formal training sessions and modules. Actively share job knowledge with analysts. May be assigned to mentor a new hire. May supervise interns.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint highly desired.
• Must have good organizational, decision-making and communication skills. Excellent analytic, quantitative and problem-solving skills with proven ability to collaborate with and influence others.
• Demonstrated ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely to senior leadership and clients.
• Strong planning skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment managing multiple priorities. Experience managing projects preferred.
• Knowledge of surety product offerings, business processes, underwriting rules, and databases would be beneficial.
