Linux Engineer
6 contract to perm
As a Red Hat Linux Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and automating our Linux-based infrastructure. You will work closely with our IT and development teams to ensure the stability, scalability, and efficiency of our systems. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and optimize Red Hat Linux systems in both on-premise and cloud environments.
Develop and implement automation solutions using Ansible to streamline system provisioning, configuration, and management.
Write and maintain Python scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation into existing workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
Support virtualized environments using VMware and cloud platforms like Azure (a plus).
Assist with the integration and support of ERP systems such as SAP or Eclipse (a plus).
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
3-7 years of hands-on experience as a Linux Engineer, with a focus on Red Hat Linux.
Proficiency in Red Hat Linux administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Strong experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
Solid programming skills in Python for scripting and automation.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.
Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, is a plus.
Knowledge of ERP systems like SAP or Eclipse is a bonus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
A proactive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications:
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar certification.
Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Work Schedule:
This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.
