Mechanical Engineer HVAC Design

MEP Engineering- Mechanical Design Engineer- MEP- HVAC

MEP engineering firm based in the local area is actively seeking to hire a mid-level mechanical engineer (MEP-HVAC) for a full-time permanent staff opportunity due to continued growth.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop HVAC system layouts, schematics, and detailed designs utilizing AutoCAD and Revit for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings
  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure project accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and standards to meet all local regulatory requirements
  • Research and apply applicable codes to design
  • Perform detailed heating and cooling load calculations according to ASHRAE standards to accurately determine appropriate equipment required
  • Collaborate closely with team members, leadership, clients, architects, and associated contractors, to integrate HVAC systems into building designs
  • Work with multi-discipline staff in designing and implementing mechanical systems in new or existing buildings
  • Ability to perform project site visits during design and construction to ensure proper implementation of the design document

    • Qualifications :

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Architectural Engineering, or equivalent
  • Knowledge / understanding of LEED and Green Building practices is a plus
  • Three (3) or more years of engineering experience in the design of HVAC & Plumbing systems
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
  • Strong people skills maintaining professional client relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
