Maintenance Technician
Our client is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing, and modifying all processing, packaging, and facility equipment to ensure optimal quality and efficiency. This role includes some supervisory responsibilities. The position is based at the Lancaster site , with occasional workdays in Hickory —details will be discussed during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in planning repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Complete work orders and log corrective maintenance issues, ensuring 100% functionality.
- Perform basic electrical repairs and troubleshooting, including AC & DC motor controls, solid-state motor controls, and test equipment .
- Support company objectives in productivity, yields, food safety, quality, customer service, and cost efficiency .
- Oversee or perform daily inspections, emergency repairs, routine adjustments, and scheduled preventive maintenance .
- Follow company policies, including GMP compliance, attendance, punctuality, and hygiene standards .
- Provide support for Process Improvement (PI) projects and participate in safety teams .
- Serve as a resource to resolve mechanical issues effectively.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, finding innovative solutions to recurring problems.
- Use measurement instruments such as a multimeter for diagnostics.
- Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Maintain strong organizational and analytical skills for planning and executing maintenance activities.
- Apply math skills , including fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and the metric system , for maintenance-related calculations.
- Demonstrate preventive and reliability-based maintenance experience, particularly within the food processing industry .
