Job Title: Rebar Fabricator I (752601)
Key Responsibilities:
Review Order Specifications: Analyze customer orders using drawings or blueprints to determine specifications, including the characteristics of the finished product, required materials, and machine setup.
Fabrication of Rebar: Perform tasks such as pulling, cutting, bending, and welding rebar to match specifications outlined in engineering prints, and ensure adherence to production schedules.
Creation of Pull-Pins: Craft "Pull-Pins" for the cover casting department.
Material Handling and Staging: Manage and organize rebar material on handling skids and storage racks to facilitate production processes.
Support Bending Operations: Assist rebar benders in positioning and manipulating metal bars for bending operations, including placing, separating, lifting, and repositioning bars. Manage the storage and transfer of metal bars, and prepare finished bent bars for shipment by bundling and labeling.
Assist Shear Operators: Support shear operations by clearing sheared materials and supplying stock length rebar for cutting. Manage the intake and staging of steel bundles for shearing operations, and assist in the organization and removal of steel remnants.
Fabrication Duties: Execute various fabrication tasks as per work specifications, including shearing, bending, autobonding, and threading. Ensure that the materials used are correct and that the final products meet quality standards.
Quality Control: Inspect the finished products visually or with tools such as tape measures, calipers, or gauges to ensure they meet required standards.
Preparation for Shipping: Package products for transport, ensuring they are well-protected with bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent damage during transit.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in metal fabrication, particularly with rebar.
