Job Summary:
The Grade Manager is responsible for overseeing the grading operations. This includes inspecting rough and final grades on all tires, ensuring smooth operation processes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and meeting company profitability goals. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and a focus on safety and customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to schedules and deadlines to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintain a ready inventory of empty trailers for daily collection.
- Oversee rough and final grading of tires to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Communicate and implement changes as directed.
- Manage inventory accuracy by monitoring daily warehouse activities and ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
- Provide leadership by setting clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety-conscious behavior.
- Promote and maintain high standards of customer service.
- Facilitate communication between departments and divisions related to tire grading.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, following company policies and OSHA standards.
- Supervise staff directly or indirectly under your control.
- Train and monitor staff in safe work practices, including new employee orientation.
- Continuously monitor the performance and activities of the grading operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities:
- Must be Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality control.
- Experience with conveyor systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
- Ability to perform manual labor under varying weather conditions.
- Capable of making independent judgments with moderate impact on company operations.
Education and Experience:
- Construction or mechanical background preferred.
- Experience with tires and tire grading operations is beneficial.
- Sales experience is a plus.
- Dependable transportation.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to perform physical labor.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
