JOB OVERVIEW:
· Responsible for the continuous and uninterrupted functioning of manufacturing lines and equipment.
· Interacts with plant and production management, the maintenance department and production employees.
· Reports to the Maintenance Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible to maintain and keep the equipment and tooling clean.
· Work with QA to resolve various manufacturing quality related issues.
· Responsible to make sure machines run efficiently and waste is minimized.
· Responsible for machine efficiency.
· Provide training to the machine line operators and new employees.
· Assist in maintaining OSHA regulations.
· Responsible for the continuous and uninterrupted functioning of all manufacturing line systems and equipment.
· Troubleshoot and repair all manufacturing line systems and equipment including fill bagging machines, weigh scales and conveyors.
· Grease, oil, clean, adjust and track all appropriate places as set forth by manufacturer's recommended PM schedules.
· Provide accurate and timely documentation of work in the equipment logbooks, communications, and verbally to coworkers during shift hand offs.
· Mechanical, pneumatic, electrical troubleshooting up to 480v.
· Advanced electrical skills: ability to diagnose control circuits, drives. PLC experience preferred.
· Analysis of equipment repairs/solutions and recommendations.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Packaging/bagging machines, conveyors, heat tunnels, labelers, shrink wrap machines, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
· Good interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to read, write, and speak English are necessary.
· Technical degrees in mechanics and/or electronics are a plus.
· Practical experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing all major pieces of packaging equipment highly preferred.
· Must be able to competently adjust and repair packaging equipment in a timely manner.
· Must be skilled in mechanical repair, equipment set up, preventive maintenance and equipment changeovers.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, properly complete documentation (daily time sheets, line changeover sheets, critical control point sheets, etc.) and equipment logbooks is essential.
· Math and computer skills are preferred
· Able to complete tasks using CMMS software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching Must have high degree of manual dexterity to safely handle, position and guide metal products before, during and after fabrication. Must be able to operate hand tools, vices and fabricating machinery Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be evaluated and considered to enable an individual to perform the essential job functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Job will generally be performed in the manufacturing plant. Busy, active and noisy manufacturing plant and machine shop. Machinery requires knowledge of safety precautions and operations. Climates vary depending on work locations. Areas may be dirty and the presence of machine parts, tools and metal by products will be present. Protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
