Job Overview

Liberty Trailers is seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions for our Indiana facility and provide oversight for HR operations across our locations, including our Sulphur Springs, TX site. This critical role will assume the responsibility for managing employee relations, recruitment, compliance, OSHA documentation, and other HR-related activities. The HR Manager will work closely with the VP, Operations and supervise an HR Generalist based in Sulphur Springs, TX, ensuring alignment with company goals and a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Employee Relations & Culture: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by addressing employee concerns, mediating conflicts, and promoting engagement initiatives.
• Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding processes for all positions across locations.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC) and maintain up-to-date OSHA documentation, including safety training records, incident reports, and workplace safety audits.
• Payroll & Benefits Administration: Manage payroll processes in collaboration with finance, administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, 401(k), etc.), and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Performance Management: Develop and implement performance review processes, support managers with employee development plans, and address performance issues as needed.
• Policy Development: Create, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across all locations.
• Training & Development: Coordinate employee training programs, including safety training (OSHA-required), leadership development, and skills enhancement.
• Supervisory Oversight: Provide guidance and direction to the HR Generalist in Sulphur Springs, TX, ensuring seamless HR support for that location and alignment with company objectives.
• Reporting & Analytics: Prepare HR reports (e.g., turnover, headcount, compliance metrics) for the VP, Operations and other leadership as needed.
• Special Projects: Lead or support HR-related initiatives, such as workforce planning, diversity programs, or process improvements, as directed by the VP, Operations.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) are highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role. Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is a plus.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of employment laws, OSHA regulations, and HR best practices. Familiarity with payroll systems and benefits administration required.
• Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Leadership: Demonstrated experience supervising or mentoring HR staff and collaborating with senior leadership.
• Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally to the Sulphur Springs, TX location as needed (estimated 10-15% travel).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in an office environment with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor for safety audits or employee engagement activities.
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs. as needed for filing or training materials.
