ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the primary point of contact for all approved programs (i.e., vendors, trip leaders, and participants).
Uphold LU Send policies, procedures, deadlines in the coordination of trip budgets, itineraries, and logistics.
Monitor financial contract deadlines and student payments for programs.
Coordinate approved program logistics with vetted external travel advisors, vendors, other external parties, and business offices.
Oversee itinerary development and implementation of group travel including securing appropriate modes of transportation, accommodations, and activities.
Assist students with pre-trip preparations, including necessary documentation (i.e., visas).
Work closely with the Office of Spiritual Development departments to facilitate the development and integration of effective cultural & service engagement.
Participate in scouting trip locations and leading student groups as needed.
Maintain records of students and University employees participating in travel.
Promote and represent opportunities through classroom speaking engagements, campus recruitment events, and group travel exhibition, and annual fairs as needed.
Oversee the daily assignments and stewardship of assigned departmental student workers.
Stay up to date with the University’s global risk management policies and procedures
Remain abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks.
Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Four-year college degree
Two years in a travel logistics, international service function or experience facilitating student travel is required
Well-developed communication skills required
Preferred Experience
A professional concentration or certificate in travel/tourism is preferred
Experience working with faculty is preferred

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
Strong organizational skills.
Computer skills, especially Microsoft office; ability to learn new skills quickly.

Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities
Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.
Occasional international or domestic travel may be required.
Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.

Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. Working environment may include facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.
Driving Requirements
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
