What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Temp Student Worker for LU Serve position at Liberty University?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists students, faculty, staff, and CSER supervisors regarding questions on CSER policy and procedures. This is done via phone, email, online chat, and walk-ins.
Assists with the planning and preparation of LU Serve events.
Assists Student Development with the planning and preparation of Serve Now and Study Abroad trainings.
Assists LU Serve’s administrative assistant when hosting guests. Helps to keep the office organized and essential supplies stocked.
Assists LU Serve’s administrative assistant with lobby coverage; phone and walk-ins.
Supports the Executive Director and Directors with strategic research on various LU Serve initiatives.
Works effectively as a team member, embracing & fostering LU’s mission.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
- Computer knowledge, including MS Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional
- Works well independently and as a team member
ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB
Communication and Comprehension
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Computer skills, especially Microsoft office; ability to learn new skills quickly.

Physical and Sensory Abilities
- Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.
