Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Description
Our organization requires a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to provide direct rehabilitation care in speech therapy to patients upon physician referral. This role adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards ensuring exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in community health initiatives and projects as required
- Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to identify and meet patient needs
- Maintain good body mechanics at all times for patient safety
- Foster professional working relationships with colleagues and vendors
Essential Functions
- Develop, assess, and modify realistic treatment goals for patients
- Accurately and promptly chart patient progress
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
- Effectively communicate on an interdisciplinary team
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (MS or MA SLP)
- ASHA certified (CCCs) or eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Current registration/license in the state
- CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience in post-acute care or related setting
Working Conditions
- Frequent sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and movement during working hours
- Proficient reading, writing, speaking, and understanding of the English language
