Network Administrator Internship

Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Network Administrator Intern to join our internal IT team at LCE. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting our network infrastructure. Working closely with our Network Administrator, you will play a key part in ensuring optimal network performance, resolving issues, and enhancing the security and stability of our systems. This internship offers a dynamic learning environment, providing you with valuable technical skills and insights into network administration during Summer 2025.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • From a technology perspective, LCE's Network Administrator Internship offers qualified applicants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a range of cutting-edge technologies, including:
    • Networking Protocols and Concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN
    • Networking Hardware: Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Access Points
    • Network Security: Firewalls, Encryption, IDS/IPS, URL/Application Filtering, 2FA
    • Operating Systems & Virtualization: Windows Server, Linux, VMware, SDN
    • Monitoring & Troubleshooting Tools: FortiAnalyzer, Log360, Lansweeper
    • Network Performance & Optimization: Bandwidth Management, QoS, Traffic Shaping
    • Collaboration Tools: Webex Control Hub Administration, Cloud Calling

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Basic Networking Knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN
  • Familiarity with Networking Hardware: Routers, Switches, Firewalls
  • Operating Systems Proficiency: Windows, Linux, macOS
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Written and Verbal
  • Eagerness to Learn and Adapt
  • Ability to Work Independently and on a Team

Preferred Certification(s):

  • CompTIA Network or Security

Physical Demands and Expectations:

  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other
