This position is responsible for the management and coordination of inbound shipments for multiple distribution centers. This role involves negotiating freight rates, scheduling and tracking deliveries and ensuring efficient transportation operations.
Core Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage inbound shipments from contract manufacturers, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries to three company distribution centers
- Negotiate competitive freight rates with carriers and logistics providers to optimize shipping costs while maintaining service quality
- Plan, coordinate and monitor shipment schedules, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery operations
- Use JD Edwards to track shipments, manage inventory and update logistics data for real-time visibility and reporting
- Build and maintain relationships with transportation providers, monitoring performance and addressing service issues
- Ensure all shipping documentation is accurate and complies with regulations and company policies
- Troubleshoot and resolve shipment delays, damages and other logistical challenges
- Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, reduce costs and enhance supply chain efficiency
- 2 onsite days per week is an essential function of this position
- Additional duties as assigned
