A Master's Degree in a Mental Health Field and eligibility for PCMHT, CMHT, LPC, PLPC or LSW is required.
The goal of the Civil Commitment Liaison is to reduce the number of unnecessary involuntary commitment affidavits by collaborating with staff in the Chancery Clerk's officer and assessing client need and affiant report. Work to reduce unnecessary admissions to the Mississippi State Hospital and other DMH facilities by performing pre-evaluation screenings, monitoring commitment evaluations and hearings, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the most appropriate dispensation of cases.
