Responsibilities
Plan safety audits and coordinate corresponding activities with facilities and operations teams.
Conduct safety audits and maintain clean records.
Investigate incidents and assist with corresponding incident reports.
Maintain records within the safety database.
OSHA reporting and recording as necessary.
Providing departments various safety reports or information as requested.
Develop supplemental training materials as needed for operations within LSL.
Research, study, evaluate and advise on new safety measures and procedures for further improvements.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Job Specifications
Bachelor’s in occupational health & safety or equivalent experience as a safety professional.
5 years of recent experience or more in a dedicated safety role with similar responsibilities.
Experience with powered industrial trucks and training employees in best practices as it pertains to their safe operations.
Warehouse experience.
Demonstrations of the following :
Certifications such as 1st Aid, CPR, Stop the Bleed, AED, Safe Driving, etc. considered a plus.
Technical Expertise
Familiarity with all aspects of safety pertaining to powered industrial trucks & overall warehousing.
Knowledge of various State and Federal OSHA regulations, and ability to assist safety requirements for current and as future stations are added to the LSL system.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Ability to track and maintain incidents throughout the LSL systems and databases.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Employment Requirements
Must be able to travel about 10% of the time.
Must be able to successfully pass all preliminary employment requirements (i.e., background check and drug screen).
Verification of Licenses held.
Physical / Mental / Visual Demands
Work is light to medium in nature with frequent walking to perform assigned tasks.
Must be able to safely conduct occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
