Position Summary
The Development Accountant is a critical and valued part of the Life Time team by providing accounting support to project teams and performing various accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The development accountant’s responsibilities will include a wide range of financial activity from due diligence through center grand opening. The team member will uphold the fulfillment of Life Time’s Mission Statement.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain ledger detail by project for property development teams
- Prepare monthly project accruals for work completed to date
- Ensure all project costs are processed in accordance with GAAP
- Uphold controls for audit compliance under Life Time’s accounting policies
- Perform general ledger accounting including journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation
- Understand financial contracts including leases and development agreements, prepare and assemble applications for payment to landlords/partners
- Participate in the month, quarter, and year end reporting processes
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and duties related to the achievement of company and department goals
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Team-oriented
