The Residence Life Hall Advisor will be required to live on-campus in a University owned property at Life University. Room and board will be covered as a part of their compensation package.

Job Summary:
The Residence Life Hall Advisor is a staff member living in a University owned property assisting in the development of students in the community and managing the safety and security of the residents. The Residence Life Hall Advisor is responsible for the safety of residents, assisting with programming and being a resource for students. The goal of the position is to actively support the mission and goals of Life University and the Divisions of Housing Operations and Student Affairs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management of the residence life program including the assisting with daily operations of university housing facilities, crisis management, and crisis response.
- Supervision of Resident Assistants and operations staff to facilitate an optimal resident student experience.
- Manages routine, critical, daily, and quarterly administrative tasks in conjunction with the Director of Housing Operations and Student Affairs Program Coordinator
- Facilitate positive interpersonal relationships within the residential community.
- Work with individual students in the resolution of personal, social, or academic problems in consultation with CARE
- Assist in implementing and supervising social, recreational, and educational programming
- Maintain security, health, fire, and safety standards among residents and facilities.
- Provide on-campus staff coverage by participating in an on-call duty program ensuring that issues in residence halls are addressed accordingly. Duty includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays providing coverage to all residential facilities 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
- Assist with administrative functions such as scheduling shifts to ensure staff coverage in facilities, completing reports, including, but not limited to, health/safety inspections, occupancy verification, move-in/out processes, compliance reporting and incident reports.
- Serve on department committees as needed
- All other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs.
- An ability to maintain person equilibrium in the face of many different pressures.
- An understanding of and skill in working with the group process.
- Demonstrated ability to address inappropriate student behavior using student development and conflict resolution strategies.
- A genuine interest and enjoyment of working with people.
- An ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated successful record or working with a diverse student, faculty, and staff community.
