Position Overview & Impact: The Executive Director will lead LIFEBLOOD Foundation in its mission to create comprehensive web-based awareness, education, and coaching/mentoring programs for individuals suffering from chronic diseases, beginning with chronic kidney disease. This visionary leader will shape the organization's strategic direction, oversee program development, build key partnerships, and ensure financial sustainability. As Executive Director, you will have the opportunity to transform how individuals manage chronic conditions by creating accessible, empowering resources that improve health outcomes and quality of life. Your leadership will directly impact thousands of patients and their families while establishing LIFEBLOOD Foundation as a pioneering force in chronic disease management education and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of LIFEBLOOD Foundation's operations and programs
- Build and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to achieve the organization's mission and expansion goals
- Oversee the development of innovative educational and coaching platforms for chronic disease management
- Lead fundraising efforts including grants, individual giving, corporate partnerships, and other revenue streams
- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team
- Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare organizations, patient advocacy groups, medical professionals, and other key stakeholders
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and public face of the organization
- Ensure financial health through sound budget management, resource allocation, and financial reporting
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to advance organizational governance and strategic initiatives
- Oversee the creation and implementation of evaluation frameworks to measure program impact
- Identify opportunities for program expansion to address additional chronic diseases beyond kidney disease
- Ensure all programs meet the highest standards of accessibility, medical accuracy, and educational quality
- Stay current on emerging trends, research, and best practices in chronic disease management and patient education
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, or related field strongly preferred
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in senior management roles
- Experience in healthcare, patient education, or chronic disease management strongly preferred
- Proven track record of successful nonprofit leadership and program development
- Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor relationship management
- Experience building and managing teams in fast-paced, mission-driven environments
- Strong financial management skills, including budget development and oversight
- Excellent communication and public speaking abilities to represent the organization effectively
- Strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans
- Knowledge of digital education platforms and online program development a plus
- Understanding of healthcare systems, chronic disease challenges, and patient needs
- Experience working with diverse communities and commitment to health equity
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to cultivate partnerships across sectors
This is a full-time, in-office position located in Littleton, Colorado near C-470/Broadway. Benefits include flexible schedule, vacation, casual dress, and available health, dental and vision insurance plans.
