In the QC Chemist – Group Lead role you will support activities for assigned QC lab tasks (i.e. testing and data review, scheduling of testing, escalation of above limit events, investigation support, etc.). You will perform, support and review phase I laboratory investigations. Utilize QC lab scheduling tools to ensure Lifecore internal customer needs are met (raw materials, in process, stability, and release testing). Additionally, you will provide cross training, leadership, set expectations and be a critical communication source for a set sub-group of QC staff.
You’ll have responsibility to:
- Provide leadership and support in the communication of scheduling and aide in completion of chemistry testing in support of; in-process, final product, raw material, and stability testing for the group.
- Perform all group tasks and set the standards for work.
- Ensure adequate training of QC staff (sub-group) to support manufacturing needs while adhering to current Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO Standards.
- Identify, support and conduct lab investigations as well as implementation of corrective actions (above actions, above limits, out of tolerance).
- Have a strong understanding of the flow of manufacturing test samples, QC supporting documentation, and governing SOP’s.
- Assist in driving subgroup activities (raw material, in process, stability & release testing) to meet turnaround times/due dates.
- Assist in scheduling and completion of method validation activities, as required.
- Communicate results through appropriate documentation and batch records, statistical analysis and trending.
This position could be a great fit for you have strong leadership skills along with the following:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry.
- 5 years’ experience in lab applications.
- GMP laboratory experience with at least 1 year of experience in a leadership role.
- Hands on experience with one of the following: HPLC, GC, light scattering, rheology or wet chemistry.
Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday
Starting annual salary: $80,000 - $90,000 2nd shift premium
