What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Manager position at LifeLine Foods, LLC?
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This position will be responsible for the effective cleaning and maintaining of the entire processing, packaging and warehouse areas to ensure the mill is kept in a safe, clean and healthy condition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement strategic sanitation program, policies, plans and processes to support food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all Company and regulatory product quality standards, sanitation standards, food safety standards, employee safety and environmental standards.
- Enforce GMPs and supports HACCP processes and procedures.
- Maintain inventory of sanitation chemicals and supplies.
- Train staff on proper use of sanitation chemicals.
- Review and sign off on the plant’s Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Prepare reports regarding inspections, violations (e.g., sanitation, GMP, SQF, etc.) and corrective actions taken.
- Work closely with Operations leadership on sanitation issues.
- Recommend and implement changes to improve sanitation policies, procedures and/or standards.
- Ensure a safe, clean work environment for all employees.
- Monitor completed sanitation tasks and cleanliness of the plant.
- Manage annual sanitation plan, budget forecast and performance.
- Manage plant’s pest control program and contract service provider. Ensure all logs and pest control manuals and records are complete, current and reviewed.
- Manage and coordinate plant fogging/fumigation schedules with Operations and external pest management providers.
- Responsible for the facilitation of in-house railcar fumigations, including record keeping of those employees who obtain a fumigation license on behalf of the Company.
- Will be required to obtain a 7A and 7C Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicator License.
- Participate in facility food safety audits.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with other departments and co-workers.
- Responsible for food safety and quality.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School education or equivalent is preferred.
- HACCP Certification, FSMA knowledge, GFSI knowledge and experience, formal GFSI Training is preferred.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, specifically milling, is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pest control, preferably in the food industry.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write informative reports, business correspondence, and formal presentations on food safety topics that can be effective to all levels of personnel.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from governmental agencies, managers and employees.
- Understanding of basic statistics in order to prepare and/or interpret data.
- Computer skills required to include knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to walk and move about the facility.
- Required to sit; use hands to finger; handle, feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; speak; hear, taste and smell.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladders and platforms, enter confined spaces and wear all safety equipment.
- Must be able to speak on the phone, make field visits to industrial areas when necessary, and to remain on feet for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work environment is a combination of corporate and manufacturing.
- Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
