We are currently seeking a full-time Human Resources Assistant. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented person to join our team. As the Human Resources Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources department and ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes. Minimum Starting Wage: $22 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time (35-40 hours per week)
Typical workweek will allow for some flexibility in daytime work schedule, Monday thru Friday, with occasional overtime as needed to support the department. This position requires minimal travel within the local area on an as-needed basis.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the human resources department.
- Assist with a variety of recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support HR projects and initiatives, such as training programs and employee engagement activities.
- Participate in research, development, implementation and administration of human resources processes and programs as assigned.
- Assists with planning and ongoing administration of employee recognition initiatives and events such peer-to-peer awards, birthday, anniversary, retirement recognition, appreciation awards and new employee announcements.
- Develops employee communications as directed.
- Assists in ensuring processes and programs follow federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, as well as the human resources department’s established policies and procedures.
Qualifications for this position include:
- High school diploma or GED. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
- Minimum one year experience working in a human resources related role.
- Experience working in a human services setting is a plus, but not required.
- Requires understanding of basic employment related laws, regulations, and human resources standard practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- General understanding of HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations and data with high integrity and professionalism.
- Availability to work minimum of 35 hours per week.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license with safe driving record.
- Current proof of automobile insurance.
