Unit Clerk performs administrative and clerical duties in the emergency department. Full Time position. Hours are 10 : 00 am - 7 : 00 pmEssential Duties
- Answers, screens and routes incoming internal and external calls to appropriate destinations in a timely and courteous manner.
- Calls codes, pages and overhead announcements as requested
- Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient records and charts.
- Performs needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering / stocking supplies.
- Assists RNs and physicians with patient care activities as needed, including entering requests under the direction of licensed nurse or physician
