Worksite: Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit
County: Warren
Hours Status: Full-Time; Schedule negotiable!
Pay Range: $50,000 yearly
Brief Job Description:
Provide short term, intensive psychotherapy to adults, who are in crisis due to mental illness or substance use and/or a substance use and co-occurring mental illness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide individual and/or group therapy to residents of the Adult Crisis Unit on a regular basis during their stay at the unit. Provide family interventions as possible.
- Complete required documentation: staff notes, psychosocial, treatment plans, discharge summaries and other paperwork on a daily basis
- Screens, makes referrals and makes recommendations regarding admission and/or out referral.
- Coordinate with other key service providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Conduct emergency evaluations or screenings who are “walk ins” at the ACSU or do not have a scheduled appointment as a backup duty when unit census allows.
- Provides case consultation to front line staff, psychiatrist, RNs and other ACSU employees.
- Provide discharge planning and coordination for the crisis unit clients.
- Makes aftercare appointments for residents prior to discharge and reviews with family/supports when applicable.
- Make regular communication with referral sources, and other community partners regarding client progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family, or psychology.
- Must be licensed or certified by a professional board.
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
- Acceptable background check.
- Ability to work calmly under stressful conditions.
