DescriptionJOB SUMMARY : The Community Liaison will work closely with other team members of the FEMA Response Team to coordinate and link those most in need to resources in the community. This position will facilitate entry on behalf of the Crisis Counseling Assistance and Training Program (CCP) into local communities and works with community organizations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES : The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification with or without an accommodation. Assess individuals who require traditional mental health or substance abuse treatment. Uses data gathered to conduct ongoing needs assessment. Provides intensive resource linkage for survivors struggling to access disaster relief assistance. Provides training to crisis counselors and other service providers regarding referral resources and mechanisms. Perform crisis counseling as needed. Coordinates and provides care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client-centered. Facilitates client access to community resources, including locating recreational activities, housing, food, clothing, school programs, vocational opportunities or services, providers to teach life skills, and relevant mental health and substance use services. Reports any concerns regarding the health, safety, or well-being of a client to the appropriate authority. Maintains an awareness of proper safety procedures and guidelines and applies these in performing daily activities and tasks. Provides administrative support and performs general office duties such as answering the phone, communicating with internal and external customers, and cleaning as required by program. May serve as a cultural broker and as a liaison between the CCP and a cultural group. Networks with community resources to identify referral mechanisms. Adheres to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules and regulations. Additional duties may be required as per specific program guidelines. Driving Requirements : Must be Over the age of 21 required Minimum of 5-years driving experience required Possess a Valid FL Driver's license (within 30 days of hire if currently do not possess) Possess a continuously valid US Driver's license for the past three years, from date of issue required Safe Driving record requiredTRAINING & DEVELOPMENT : Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually. Other training and / or professional development may be assigned due to evolution of programs.
