General Manager - Natural Market
Job Summary:
The GM oversees the entire operation as an observer, facilitator and leader of the mission and vision. The GM participates in setting Key Performance Index goals, leads the customer service experience and manages Team Leader performance for the Operation. Performance Management is inclusive of staff performance supervision, administrative and operational supervision using the POS/Inventory Management reports, communications and analytical resources. The GM ensures all aspects of the operation are adequately covered at all times through management assignments and staff training.
This is a complete natural market requiring an understanding of what makes this business model different from the standard grocery store model. The GM does not need to be a health expert but needs to recognize the priority of a health conscious knowledge base.

- Collaborate with vendors on marketing and branding strategies
- Safety policy implementation
- Promote seriousness among staff through position management
- Visit competing stores for advantages we can incorporate
- Walk the floor with Department buyers to spot check EDLP signage and turnover order replenishment
- Work closely with sales staff, sales brokers and account managers for new placement deals, sales and promotional strategies
- Work closely with Finance and Ownership on sales forecasts and projected order strategies
- Note improvements needed to the facility – maintenance and repairs
