Community Habilitation Specialist

What You'll Do
As a Community Habilitation Specialist, you'll work one-on-one with people with developmental or intellectual disbailities in the community, helping them build independence. Your day might include:
- Helping with grocery shopping, meal planning, and cooking to promote healthy habits.
- Supporting with budgeting, paying bills, and keeping up with household responsibilities.
- Encouraging social connections by helping people get involved in their community and stay connected with family and friends.
- Driving individuals to appointments, shopping trips, and other activities using your own vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Teaching life skills, building confidence, and offering support so individuals can reach their personal goals.
- Working independently in the field-there's no direct supervision, so being responsible and knowing when to reach out for help is important.
What We're Looking For
- Flexible availability-hours vary between 8 AM - 7 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend needs.
- A self-starter who's comfortable working alone and making decisions on the go.
- Reliable transportation and a willingness to use your own vehicle for work (mileage reimbursement included).
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for helping others.
- Experience is great, but we're happy to train the right person!

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $19.00 per hour
