POSITION SUMMARY: Provide accurate information and direction to Lifetime Assistance drivers, program personnel and Supported persons.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitors 2-way radio communications and track the daily operation of the service provided. Contacts drivers and provides information to consumers as needed.
- Answers telephone calls from the public for scheduling, taking cancellations, requesting information on services in a courteous and polite manner. Provides customers with information on the estimated time of pick-up.
- Handles emergency situations such as in-service breakdowns, missed pickups and no shows. As needed, assists operating personnel in resolving daily operating and scheduling problems
- Promptly apprises the operations staff of any field problems such as accidents, breakdowns, delays etc. and maintains records of all field problems.
- Assumes any other duty or responsibility assigned by the transportation manager that is pertinent to the overall function of the department i.e., driving routes as needed.
- Assists the transportation manager in the efficient coordination of the system's operation.
- Position will include administrative functions, including, but not limited to:
- Point of Contact (POC) for vendors (Daily)
- POC for residential side (keep them informed of inspections/service work done in residences) (Daily)
- Processes PO's, receives bills, verification forms and submits to business office for payment (daily)
- Preparation and maintenance of bid packets (Ongoing)
- Filing and organization of all files (Daily)
- Purchases and provides support to the department for local parts/materials Provides research for specialty parts and supplies.
- Researches specialty maintenance item purchases that require internet research to verify local/out of state vendor sources, pricing, delivery, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalency, must be able to multitask with good organizational skills, have a valid NYS Driver's License, and meet LAI's Vehicle Operator Requirements. Must have ability to use a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed. Be competent in Word, Outlook and have the ability to learn other computer programs based on the needs of the program.
LOCATION: Rochester, NY HOURS: 40 Hours SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 6:30AM am - 3:00PM
SALARY: $18-$20 per hour
