What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager, Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) position at LifeWays Community Mental Health?
General Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of Director, Crisis Services, the Program Manager, Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) accomplishes program(s) objectives by supervising staff, overseeing the delivery of Crisis program functions, organizing, and monitoring work processes, and functioning as CRU Program oversight. The CRU incorporates LifeWays' mission, vision and values into all areas of decision making.
Essential Functions:
- Manages the admission process to ensure appropriate access to Crisis Residential Services.
- Completes the CRU assessment upon admission.
- Manages the Discharge process to ensure appropriate discharge planning to meet consumer needs.
- Educates and empowers Direct Care staff to be adept at meeting current and future organizational needs.
- Through individual and group supervision directs, supervises, trains, evaluates competencies and addresses performance issues consistently, promptly and appropriately.
- Plans and facilitates meetings to communicate organization initiatives and updates to staff.
- Monitors and manages staff schedules, priorities and assignments to ensure that staff time is being utilized appropriately for efficient operation of programs.
- Maintains contingency plans to ensure full staffing ratios at all times.
- Collaborates with Director, Crisis Services to address issues of compliance and ethics.
- Monitors credentialing, privileging, and licenses to ensure staff are up to date and working within their scope.
- Ensures obligations regarding the specifications of the program, productivity, and frequency of patient contact are met consistently.
- Develops and leads staff training programs and exercises to maintain a culture of learning and clinical excellence.
- Regularly and consistently audits clinical documentation of staff for clinical proficiency, quality, and timeliness.

- Ensures programs are in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements and keeps informed about changes in those laws, regulations and requirements.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Required Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Master of Social Work, Counseling, Family & Marriage Therapy or Doctorate in Psychology or Registered Nurse.
- A Social Work with minimum 3 years' experience in Crisis Residential Management.
- Appropriate full licensure with the State of Michigan.
Preferred Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Master of Social Work with LMSW licensure with the State of Michigan.
- Master of Science in Nursing.
- Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).
- At least five years' experience with Mentally Ill, Developmentally Disabled, and Co-occurring adults and children as well as children with Severe Emotional Disturbance.
- At least two years' experience at supervisory level.
