Job Title: Director of IT

Job Summary:

The Director of IT is responsible for leading and managing the IT department, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient technology strategies. This role involves overseeing IT operations, infrastructure, security, and the support of internal and external systems. The Director of IT works closely with senior leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives and to drive innovation within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with business goals.
  • Plan, oversee and execute on IT projects, including system upgrades, software implementations, and technology rollouts.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption based on company needs, including leveraging AI tools.
  • Leadership & Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • ERP Oversight and Management
  • Responsible for Company ERP System, including managing all plug-ins.
  • Manage EDI integration with customers and suppliers.
  • Oversee third party software plugins to system (shipping software, salesforce, etc.).
  • IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Execution:
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and telecommunications. Outsource to MSP when necessary.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems and services.
  • Manage cloud-based services, data centers, and other IT resources.
  • Information Security:
  • Develop and implement robust IT security policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks related to cybersecurity and data protection.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Budget & Resource Management:
  • Develop and manage the IT department budget, including forecasting and allocation of resources.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and service agreements.
  • Support & Service Management:
  • Determine best path for internal team support (MSP vs Direct).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Communicate IT initiatives and project progress to senior leadership and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience:
  • 7-10 years of experience in IT management roles.
  • Proven experience in managing IT operations and leading technology projects.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Experience managing ERP systems.
  • Advanced experience with SQL Reports and Queries.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and system management.
  • Expert with ERP Systems and associated bolt-on software solutions.
  • Expert in SQL.
  • Understanding of how to leverage AI for automation of repetitive tasks and data analysis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $135,000.00 per year

Education:

Ability to Relocate:

Salary : $1,000 - $135,000
