Summary

Lightbox Development is seeking a talented and passionate Architect and Designer to join our team!

The position requires an extreme attention to detail while also understanding the big picture. As an Architect and Interior Designer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and functional spaces that are incredibly well design and built.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Architectural Design Development – Full Scope - Exterior and Interior:

  • On a project-by-project basis, you may potentially be asked to produce design deliverables from Conceptual Design to CA while other projects may require collaboration with outside Architects during Conceptual Design and SD with the intent of taking over at DD to CA.
  • Develop Architectural, Interior, and Renderings consistent with each phase of the project.
  • Oversee all aspects of the permitting process between all design professionals and the municipal building department reviewers, managing to tight deadlines and turnaround times.
  • At the direction of the project team, prepare and/or modify all aspects of the architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, sketches, 3D models, specifications and/or studies.
  • Develop and maintain a BIM/REVIT model and incorporate all other relevant Engineers’ designs to ensure constructability, clash detection, and full design resolution.
  • Develop and maintain a library of details, specifications, submittals, and vendors.
  • Perform Research and Development to various construction components, assemblies, and methodologies, including off-site pre-fabrication—various panelized systems and/or fully modular systems as well as in energy efficiency and sustainability.

Construction Administration:

  • Produce detailed shop drawings for Cabinet and Millwork, Furniture/Objects, and potentially other elements that may need to be fabricated.
  • Assist in the shop drawing review and approval of any third-party shop drawing submittals.
  • Perform site visits and OACs to review as-builts, workmanship, conformity to design intent. Produce various field observation reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate frequently with project team, especially Superintendent, to “interpret” design intent and details.
  • Lead the Revision and As-Built process throughout CA and coordinate with project team, engineers and expeditor ensuring drawings and specifications are up to date and available on a regular cadence.
  • Facilitate RFIs and ASI process.

Design Support:

  • Assist in the coordination of interior design projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and design specifications are adhered to. Support the design team in all phases of project development, from concept to completion.
  • Help prepare design presentations, renderings, elevations, mood boards, and material palettes.
  • Assist in drafting plans, elevations, sections, details and design layouts as needed.
  • Produce and maintain interior specification schedules and cut sheets. Ensure they are accurate, up to date, a comprehensive in terms of the documentation for the entire project and all trades.
  • Maintain the materials library and Vendor database of contact information, product catalogues, product information, pricing, lead-times, etc.
  • Produce and maintain a comprehensive Spec Booklet.
  • Conduct material, vendor and product research for projects as directed by project executives.
  • Coordinate / acquire samples as needed.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Architectural Software Proficiency: Fluency in Revit or ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, SketchUp, V-Ray, and Lumion. Ideally, Rhino and Grasshopper as well.
  • Shop Drawings: Pytha.
  • Other Software: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office Suite, and other Interior Design Web-based software, ProCore, Harvast and Asana.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record as an Architect and Designer of 7 years with high-end, modern residential projects.
  • B.S. or MS-degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Licensing: Preferably a Licensed Architect (AIA, RIBA, or equivalent). Alternatively, a candidate with experience and progress toward licensure may be considered.
  • Ability to manage 2-3 projects simultaneously with an eye for quality, prioritizing tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, ensuring all project timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Self-Starter who can articulate complex issues succinctly and clearly.
  • Exceptionally strong graphic, written and verbal communication skills with project team, contractors, and design teams.
  • Can typically trouble shoot and handle issues autonomously yet know when/how to enlist help.
  • Can work collaboratively by balancing a personal point a view while listening to receive feedback and project requirements.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills to address challenges and enhance project outcome.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods and workmanship of each trade.
  • Fluent in English and ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year

Salary : $65,000 - $130,000
