Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Floating Assistant Teacher to join our educational team to help assist teachers in various age groups. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role involves helping to implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and creativity.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Assess and document children's progress in various developmental areas, including social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive environment for all children, including those with special needs or disabilities.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety at all times.
- Provide individualized support for children requiring additional assistance in areas such as special education or behavioral management.
Qualifications
- 45 DCF Hour Certification required
- CDA or Associates in Early Childhood Education is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience working with young children in a preschool setting or similar environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and best practices in early education.
- Skills in behavior management, classroom management, and working with children with disabilities are essential.
- Previous experience in caregiving roles such as nannying, babysitting, or infant care is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that supports children's learning and growth.
