Job Title: Director of Development and Admissions
Purpose:
The Director of Development and Admissions is responsible for leading the school’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts, building strong relationships within the community, and overseeing the admissions process. This role plays a crucial part in securing financial resources, maintaining strong donor and community partnerships, and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for prospective families. The Director of Development and Admissions works closely with the Executive Director, the Administrative Director, school board and other relevant stakeholders to set and achieve fundraising goals that support the school’s mission, vision, and long-term success. This position reports directly to the Executive Director/Principal.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Fundraising Donor Development
Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan, including donor outreach,
campaigns, and special events.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with a minimum of 50 donors to ensure ongoing engagement and support.
Annually solicit and cultivate at least 25 new donors to expand the school’s donor base.
Maintain a fundraising calendar to organize and track all development efforts.
Provide monthly fundraising updates to the school board, outlining progress toward financial goals.
Collaborate with the board and administration to set and refine fundraising targets based on the school’s financial needs.
2. Community & Church Relations
Build and maintain a database of local pastors and church leaders to strengthen ties with the Christian community.
Organize visits for administrators and students to attend church services and engage with local congregations.
Create and maintain a volunteer base to assist with fundraising initiatives and school events.
3. Marketing & Public Relations
Work with marketing and public relations teams to establish consistent branding standards across school publications and promotional materials.
Assist in the creation of newsletters, brochures, and online content to enhance the school’s visibility and donor engagement.
4. Admissions & Family Engagement
Oversee the admissions process for prospective students, ensuring a smooth transition from inquiry to enrollment, and coordinate communication with prospective families to ensure timely and accurate information throughout the process.
Collaborate with the Administrative Director to ensure seamless coordination of
enrollment documentation, record-keeping, and communications with families.
Oversee the Scholarship Panel, managing the scholarship review process, ensuring fair evaluation, and maintaining alignment with the school’s financial aid policies.
Meet annually with each LCA family to review financial procedures, fundraising
expectations, and tuition policies.

✅ Proficiency in administrative tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and RenWeb (FACTS SIS).
✅ Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple fundraising initiatives and community engagement efforts simultaneously.
Specific Qualifications:
Experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations (preferred).
Enthusiastic alignment with the mission and vision of Lighthouse Christian Academy.
Active membership in a local church and ability to articulate core tenets of faith.
Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
