Job Title : Field Inspector (Highway Bridges)
Job Type : Permanent
Salary : $60-80 / hr. Depending on Experience
Location : Warwick, RI
Responsibilities :
- Inspect and approve all contractor site work, ensuring conformance with project plans and quality standards; inform of substandard work and ensure remedial action is taken.
- Prepare daily inspection reports documenting all project work activities and events.
- Perform field measurements and assessments of project work completed, and verify pay quantities.
- Collaborate with the Resident Engineer on project issues, corrections of substandard work, and negotiation of extra work items.
- Verify contractor-submitted materials, components, and methods; ensure testing requirements are met.
- Participate in project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Coordinate with contractor project managers to avoid conflicts and delays.
- Monitor safety and compliance with environmental and traffic control plans.
Qualifications :
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability :
Knowledge of highway bridge construction projects.
Minimum Qualifications :
Two years of experience in field inspection on civil construction projects.
Preferred Qualifications :
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
