Key Responsibilities:
As a Function Test Technician, your duties will include:
As a Function Test Technician, your duties will include:
- Performing electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on rail cars in the final assembly process.
- Conducting tests on systems such as HVAC, brakes, propulsion, communication, and trainline systems using tools like multi-meters and PC-based test equipment.
- Reading and interpreting piping diagrams, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Completing test record sheets, creating rejection reports, and documenting findings.
- Interacting with customers, communicating assignments clearly and confidently.
- Supporting engineering teams on various tests as needed.
Must-Haves:
- Previous experience in electrical/electronic testing.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or associate’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering preferred).
- Proficiency with hand tools, multi-meters, clamp meters, and test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
