Job Title : Function Test Technician
Location : Yonkers, NY
Type : 6-Month Temp-to-Perm
Shifts Available : 7 AM - 4 PM
Position Overview :
We are currently seeking multiple Function Test Technicians to join our team in Yonkers, NY. In this role, you will work on rail cars being processed through the Yonkers Facility and Commissioning Sites. Your responsibilities will include electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and other tasks as assigned by your supervisor. This position involves working on rail cars in the final assembly process at the Yonkers facility or at remote sites.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on rail cars.
- Use standard hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, etc.) and diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, clamp meters, and PC-based tools.
- Read and interpret piping diagrams, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and electrical schematics.
- Conduct test procedures on systems, including HVAC, Brakes, Propulsion, Communications, Toilet systems, Trainline systems, Sign systems, Automatic Train Control systems, and other general functional tests.
- Assist and support the engineering group with various engineering tests as required.
- Communicate directly with customers, providing clear and confident updates regarding test assignments.
- Complete all required test records, create rejection reports, and document other aspects of job assignments.
