Position Summary:
The Prevention and Intervention Director is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of Lightshare’s prevention and early intervention programs. This role provides leadership to ensure that all services align with community needs, state/federal guidelines, and the organization’s mission to support mental wellness and reduce the risk of behavioral health issues. The Director works collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders to create proactive, education-driven approaches to behavioral health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, manage, and oversee prevention and intervention initiatives across multiple service lines, with a focus on at-risk populations.
Supervise program staff and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including DCF standards and grant requirements.
Collaborate with schools, community agencies, and local partners to implement outreach and education efforts.
Monitor program effectiveness through data collection, analysis, and reporting; make data-driven recommendations for program enhancements.
Coordinate staff training and professional development in evidence-based prevention and intervention practices.
Manage grant deliverables, budgets, and reporting in collaboration with the Development and Finance departments.
Support crisis response planning and intervention strategies in collaboration with clinical leadership.
Advocate for community wellness through public speaking, stakeholder meetings, and outreach events.
Maintain detailed documentation and reporting in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in prevention, intervention, or behavioral health services, including supervisory experience.
Knowledge of evidence-based prevention programs, trauma-informed care, and early intervention strategies.
Experience working with diverse populations and underserved communities.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Familiarity with DCF standards, grant-funded programs, and compliance requirements.
Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed.
