We seek a dynamic, experienced IT Manager to lead our Corporate Technology department. This role is crucial for managing our outsourced internal IT operations and potentially building an in-house IT practice from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in IT management, with the ability to seamlessly transition between overseeing third-party managed services and developing internal IT capabilities. As the sole representative of our internal IT department, this individual will be the primary point of contact for IT-related issues within the organization.
What you'll do:
- Oversee and manage the relationship with the third-party IT service provider to ensure efficient and effective IT operations.
- Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the company's business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, whether outsourced or in-house.
- Ensure the third-party IT service provider meets all SLAs and performance metrics.
- Monitor and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and services.
- Implement and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues for headquarters staff and remote employees, ensuring timely resolution of issues by coordinating with the outsourced IT team as needed.
- In partnership with our outsourced IT services vendor, evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve business processes and support growth.
- Plan and execute the transition from outsourced to in-house IT operations, if required, based on research comparing build within vs. maintain outsourced to third-party model.
- If decided to move within, develop a roadmap for building an internal IT practice, leveraging existing processes and systems established by the third-party provider.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Identify and mitigate IT risks, including cybersecurity threats, as applicable within the corporate technology footprint.
- Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for our corporate technology platforms.
- Partner with the Security leader to enhance the corporate technology security posture.
- Participate in SOC audits, ensuring compliance and readiness.
- Collaborate with senior management and other departments to understand IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Communicate IT performance, issues, and strategies to stakeholders.
What you should have:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing outsourced IT services and transitioning to in-house operations.
- Strong IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications knowledge.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Experience partnering with security teams and managing SOC audits.
- Service orientation is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a SaaS environment.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
