Role Description

The Estimator is responsible for performing detailed quantity take-offs for various construction projects. This role supports the Quotations Department by providing accurate and timely take-off data to estimators, ensuring the company can deliver precise and competitive bids. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the estimating team. This is a full-time on-site role located in San Diego, CA. The Take-Off Specialist will be responsible for coordinating with the project design team and construction partners.

Duties

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with estimators to understand project requirements and scope.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of take-off data.
  • Maintain organized records of take-off calculations and related documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals by providing necessary take-off information.
  • Communicate with contractors, project managers, architects, and engineers to clarify project details.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for take-offs and estimating.
  • Utilize take-off software and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrical systems, lighting fixtures and controls
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work with evolving construction schedules
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction take-offs or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in take-off software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
