Neal Electric, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for an Estimator based out of our Carlsbad, CA location. The ideal candidate will provide direct estimating support to the operations department to ensure project proposals align with company and client expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Assist in the updating of weekly Estimating Department reporting and tracking.
- Analyze and interpret bid documents, Performs quantity take-offs of electrical and low voltage systems drawings.
- Review material pricing for accuracy and completeness
- Review plans, specifications, addenda and front end documents
- Perform constructability reviews and value engineering exercises
- Identify upcoming projects for bidding opportunities.
- Prepare bid forms and update proposal scope letter with project specifics and details.
- Deliver bids and prequalification packages.
- Identify sensitive project requirements, threats and opportunities for accurate bidding.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by direct Supervisor.
- Prepare, package and submit competitive estimates within a reasonable time.
- Schedule and attend job turnover meetings and assure preparation of job turnover documents
- Request quotes and professional interaction with subs and suppliers.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues, supervisors, administrative personnel, vendors, and subcontractors based on mutual respect and integrity.

SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS :
Working conditions consist of temperature-controlled buildings or offices, outside elements such as rain, cold, and heat when working in open environments, driving from various locations or attending meetings, etc. Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on work location.
