Lycée International de Houston (LIH) is seeking an energetic and motivated Spanish Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator who thrives in a multicultural environment, fosters students’ language acquisition and cultural understanding, and contributes to the broader school community. This position involves teaching Spanish across multiple grade levels, including IB Spanish (SL/HL) and/or AP Spanish, following the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards, and preparing students to become global citizens. Only candidates with relevant experience will be contacted. Successful applicants must undergo a background check.

Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree (preferred) or a bachelor’s degree in Spanish
- Experience teaching Spanish, including IB Spanish (SL/HL) and/or AP Spanish, in an independent, private, college preparatory, or similar school setting. (K-12)
- Demonstrated fluency in Spanish, including speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension.
- Time spent living in a Spanish-speaking country, enhancing cultural and linguistic proficiency.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance Spanish teaching and learning.
- Strong references that attest to teaching abilities, student connections, and mastery of Spanish.
- Knowledge of modern learning principles and innovative teaching techniques.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Multi-Level Teaching Skills,Proven experience or ability to manage instruction for students of varying proficiency levels within the same classroom.
- Skills and flexibility to support the school community, such as coaching sports, advising extracurricular activities, or managing language labs.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Instruction and Curriculum Development:
- Plan, implement, and assess lessons aligned with the TEKS standards, tailored to meet the needs of students across multiple proficiency levels within one classroom setting.
- Teach advanced-level courses, including IB Spanish (SL/HL) and/or AP Spanish, preparing students for success in rigorous examinations.
- Foster language proficiency and cultural appreciation through interactive and meaningful activities.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse student abilities, including native and non-native speakers.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
- Maintain effective classroom discipline to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
- Encourage student engagement and active participation through innovative teaching methods and activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Spanish program and share best practices.
